Makeup for 2018 has been all about shimmer and glitter, so much so that from glittery eyes, we’ve moved onto glittery lips and there’s a new product in the market to serve our fetishes!

We recently tried the new Colorbar Lip and Eye Twinkling Glitter from their ‘Feel the Rain’ collection. And here is the review.

Price: Rs 500/- actual price. You can buy from here.

Weight: 1.2 grams

Brand claims:

This series of lip glitter is available in 4 different shades of Drippy (001), Dewy (002), Muggy (003) and Rainy (004) in tiny containers of 1.2 grams from their limited-edition Summer Collection 2017 called ‘Feel the Rain’. Use these loose glitters to get rid of your dull monotonous look and get party ready in no time. Exclusively formulated in Italy, this is a collection dedicated to the commemoration of Indian monsoon and the freshness, greenery and lush life that it brings along with it!

Packaging:

This is perhaps by far one of the best packaged makeup products we have used. Staying true to its ‘Feel the Rain' theme, it has tiny droplets of rain all across its alluring gold cuboidal box. On opening the box you'll find a tiny compact cylindrical glass container consisting the loose glitter. The bottle is sturdy and looks like one that won't break even after it falls a couple of times (try at your own risk, though :P). A few ingredients are written across the outer cover and all in all, the packaging is surely going to beguile you!

Our experience:

Upon its arrival, we honestly felt happy simply because of the beautiful packaging of the product.

On unscrewing the cap, the glitters look all hypnotic and glam, but we must say getting this little a quantity for 500 bucks feels as if you bought it from a gold jewellery shop.

Now putting the glitter on is not just a task, it's an ordeal. We realized, one must use an applicator brush, as the glitters keep sticking to your fingers if the face isn't primed.

Now coming to the application, an eyeshadow makeup brush can be used to put the glitters on the eye lids if you are aiming for a glam look for the night as these are too tiny for a tweezer. This shimmer is strictly a night look and should be used sparingly in places like eye inner corner, one of the wings of a double wing liner, outer edge of eye or to fill in graphic lined eyes, as too much of it would look tacky.

The dewy shade is an interesting palette, as it is a very subtle hue of greyish pink, which looks like a successor to the acclaimed rose gold colour. The glitter needs to be put after primer has been put so that it does not spread all across the face.

For application across the lips, a lipstick of a similar colour palette can be used for the glitters to blend in with the whole look and should be topped with a coat of gloss!

Notes: If you're planning to carry the lip glitter look make sure the rest of the face is clean and not cluttered as the whole aim is to accentuate the lips, which itself is not for the faint hearted!

Conclusion: All in all, when put properly, patiently and neatly, your eyes definitely do the talking, but go easy and planned with the lip glitter look to avoid looking like a DIY 2nd grade craft project!

Pros:

1. It’s an unmistakable look for the night.

2. Makes you stand out of the crowd.

3. Amazing packaging and easily portable.

Cons:

1. Sticks to face and fingers.

2. Difficult to apply and remove.

3. Fear of going OTT.

Final Recommendation: For special occasions and lot of time in hand? Yayyyyyy!

For on-the-go look: Not one bit!
