We all love liquid lipsticks but don’t you just hate it when it doesn’t look picture perfect?
Here are a few simple ways to avoid the most common liquid lipstick mistakes.
1- Forgetting to exfoliate!
Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells. Applying liquid lipstick without removing the dead skin cells is just going to make your lips look flaky and dry. If you apply liquid lipstick without exfoliating your lips, you might as well just throw the lipstick in the bin.
How to exfoliate: Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly on your lips and rub it gently using a kid’s toothbrush and then wipe off excess with a towel. Do it every day for soft lips.
2- Not prepping your lips
After exfoliation you need to apply a lip balm to ensure a smooth application of the lipstick. Since, liquid lipsticks can dry out your lips quickly, you need to apply a high quality lip balm.

3- Underestimating the power of lip liners!
If you don’t want your lipsticks to bleed, then just invest in some high quality lip liners of various colours such as nude, pink and red.
Draw a line around your lips and colour it in lightly before applying your lipstick. This way, it won't bleed and you will still be left with some colour when the lipstick fades.
4- Neglecting the lipstick brush
This small handy tool is all you need to ensure a perfect application of your lipstick. Instead of relying on the doe foot applicator, just invest in a lipstick brush which will help you apply the lipstick evenly.

5- Applying in excess
You might have a compulsion to apply a lot of lipstick all at once, but stop!
You only need one swipe of the lipstick or maximum two, for a perfect finish. If you apply too much, it is just going to look clumpy.
6- Buying cheap products
Unless you are planning to buy Miss Claire lip creams, don’t go for any unknown or low price brands, as you will never know how the formula can damage your lips in the long run. You have to invest more to get more!
7- Not using tissue paper!
When it comes to lip products, Tissues are going to be your best friend!
After applying the lipstick, just take a tissue and blot out the excess to avoid smudging.
