Finally on November 27 2017, the couple announced their engagement.
When And Where Are Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Getting Married?
The royal wedding date is 19th May 2018 which means that there is barely a month to go. It has been confirmed by the Kensington Palace that the ceremony is scheduled for May 19th, Saturday. Her Majesty The Queen will allow the wedding to take place at the Chapel. The couple has her blessings, and the Royal Family will fund the wedding.
St George's Chapel in Windsor is being prepared to host the wedding of the year. This venue has been a favourite of the royal family's for quite a while now. It has hosted the weddings of Prince Harry's uncle, the Earl of Wessex and his cousin, Peter Phillips.
There are no official figures to go by, but experts have estimated that the wedding might cost around ₤500,000.
According to the British government, the wedding day will not be declared a bank holiday even though it was done for the wedding of Prince William to Catherine Middleton. It is a royal tradition to hold weddings on weekdays, but this wedding has been scheduled for the weekend thus breaking the norm.
If you are interested in watching the ceremony, then be sure to tune in by 12:00 PM BST on 19th May 2018.
The Dean of Windsor, David Conner, will be in charge of conducting the service, and the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, is going to perform the awaited marriage ceremony.
A royal carriage procession will be held through Windsor once the ceremony is over. The family will also hold two receptions on te same day. The first reception, to be hosted by the Queen herself, will be for all the attendees of the ceremony and will take place in St. George's Hall. Afterwards, the second reception will be held in Frogmore House, under the Prince of Wales for close friends and family.
Wedding Dress:
Meghan Markle's wedding dress has been a fierce topic of discussion in the fashion community since the wedding was announced. According to reports, she will have two separate gowns for the ceremony and the reception. She will be changing right after the ceremony so she can wear something more glamorous to party in.
The wedding dress is expected to be traditional and elegant, upholding the royal name. Meghan has been working very closely with the designer she has chosen because she wants everything to perfect. There is a lot of speculation about the wedding dress designer who managed to impress Markle finally, but nothing can be known for sure until the wedding day. Most people suspect that someone among Erdem, Roland Mouret, Inbal Dror, Jenny Packham, and Alexander McQueen will design the gown. All of them are fantastic in what they do, so you can be sure that Meghan will look absolutely stunning.
The fitting will most probably be held at Windsor Castle so that the gown can be matched to the ambience.
The Engagement Ring:
Prince Harry designed the engagement ring himself and had it custom made by court jewellers, Cleave and Company.
The gold ring has one diamond that was sourced from Botswana and two stones that were a part of Princess Diana's collection.
Royal Wedding Guest List:
The guest list has been a source of constant curiosity for everyone. Since the wedding will be a private event, it will not be a compulsion to invite political leaders. The royal guest list will include Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge.
