Guess what? Sonam Kapoor is now the lawfully wedded wife of Anand Ahuja which makes her Sonam Kapoor Ahuja! She also changed her name on her Instagram handle soon after her sister Rhea posted a picture captioned-
Forever and ever. Sister love is the truest love I know. Me and Sonam Kapoor-Ahuja
The wedding festivities were in full swing as one could see while passing the bungalow of Anil Kapoors.
The bollywood diva has finally settled down with her longtime beau and a Delhi based businessman Anand Ahuja in an intimate wedding affair held in Mumbai. The destination wedding was called off and the couple opted for a homely intimate wedding in the bride’s hometown.
The announcement was made after a joint statement was released by both the families that confirmed the rumors and speculations about the wedding.

The Mehendi
At her mehendi ceremony of the coveted Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja wedding, the bride wore a white Indian ensemble designed by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla and Anand Ahuja wore a white bandhgala suit.
Family and friends danced their feet and hearts away at the ceremony! The father of the bride was seen showing off his prowess in bhangra.
Friends and family set the stage on fire at the sangeet and the pictures and prep videos indicated that it was a rocking night!
The Wedding
The wedding of the year took place on 08th May 2018 between 11:00 am to 12:30 pm in Rockdale which is reportedly the bungalow of Sonam's aunt.
It was an intimate Sikh wedding and witnessed umpteen celebrities like Ranveer Singh, Karan Johar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Swara Bhaskar, Aamir Khan and of course the families and friends of the bride and groom.
The wedding was an intimate and simple event as the actress is not a fan of quintessential big fat Indian weddings.
I think the whole idea of a marriage is more appealing to me than a wedding. I think there is too much money spent; it’s all very crass, and I would rather give that money away. I’d rather have a wedding at home than anywhere else. I think it’s important to do all the rituals, but I don’t believe in spending all that money, I find it disgusting and very wasteful, and I’m not okay with that at all" Kapoor stated earlier at a Dubai event.
The Wedding Outfit
Sonam Kapoor looked transcendent in a classic red lehenga choli by designer Anuradha Vakil. The fashion icon accessorised her bridal look with a choker, a guttapusalu necklace and a multi-stranded matha patti. Her makeup was minimal and she looked flawless!
Groom Anand Ahuja’s wore a stunning bandhgala in beige designed by Raghavendra Rathore. The wedding ceremony was followed by a scrumptious lunch and a reception party in the evening.
The venue was decked up with white flowers and minimal embellishments in shades of pastel. The Guru Granth Sahib was brought from the Golden Temple in Amritsar for the bride and groom to seek blessings.
Before the lunch, Sonam Kapoor changed her outfit. She was seen in a blush light pink lehenga. The newlyweds cut their two tier wedding cake in the presence of the family and friends.
The Reception
Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor's reception looked like the grand affair people had thought it would be.
The grand reception was held inside a 12,000sq.ft ballroom at The Leela, Mumbai owned by one of her best friends family which is situated near the airport for convenience of guests traveling from other cities.
The reception witnessed the presence of the best of B-Town. The Kapoor family, KJ, Kangana Ranaut, Alia Bhatt, the Ambanis, Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Vidya Balan, Rekha, Akshay Kumar & Twinkle Khanna, The Bachchans, Katrina Kaif were among others attending the grand party in the evening.
The Reception Outfits
The groom made a bold fashion statement by sporting a pair of Nike sneakers and a black bandhgala suit! Did he just make a fashion faux pas? Not cool! Meanwhile, Sonam chose to take the road less travelled and wore an ensemble by friend Anamika Khanna in monochromatic earthy tones instead of a vibrant meretricious typical reception ensemble.
The groom was seen shaking a leg with the king of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and father-in-law Anil Kapoor.
Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan also recreated the Karan Arjun moment with Sonam’s mother Sunita Kapoor. Anil Kapoor looked dashing as ever in a black cut suit. Many celebrities stuck to the cravate noire dress code or Indian formals for the soiree.
The dress codes for the festivities were mentioned in the e-invite- an Indian traditional attire for the wedding, Indian festive- shades of white for the mehendi and Indian or Western formals for the reception party.
Finally, many celebrities and friends wished the love birds a happy married life on twitter and Instagram and other social media. Of course, the pictures of the lavish Mehendi, wedding and the reception party subsumed the news feeds on social media, and of course, one of B-town’s best weddings made the headlines.
