Bollywood weddings have always made headlines and the recent talk of the town is Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding.
Fashion and cinema icon Sonam Kapoor is all set to tie the knot with her longtime beau and entrepreneur Anand Ahuja in May. The Padman star has neither accepted nor denied the rumors but we know for sure that this wedding is going to be a grand affair after Virushkas wedding in December last year. The air has been cleared after she said this at the trailer launch of her upcoming film ‘Veere di Wedding’-

Well we don’t know much about Veere di Wedding but Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding has us bouncing off the walls!
They were supposed to tie the knot in Geneva making it a big fat Punjabi destination wedding but considering her aunt Sridevi’s unfortunate demise and her grandmothers ill health, the destination wedding was ruled out and now they’re set to carry out the nuptial ceremony in Mumbai. They’ll commence the festivities from May 7 at a luxury condo in Bandra Kurla Complex where the duo bought an apartment that is spread over 7,000 square feet which is spacious enough for the Mehendi. Guests have been asked to be free on the 7th and 8th of May for the festivities and finally the coveted marriage!
Wedding venue
Reportedly, they’re all set to get married on the 8th of May, at Sonam’s aunt Kavita Singh’s heritage bungalow in Bandra near Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow Mannat. The 55,000 square feet property is said to have a humongous pooja room.
Wedding receptions
The newlyweds will host their reception inside a 12,000 sq.ft ballroom at The Leela, Mumbai owned by one of her best friends family which is situated near the airport for convenience of guests traveling from other cities.
Another reception is to be hosted in Delhi for the groom’s family and friends.
The choreographer for the Sangeet is none other than Sonam’s family friend and remarkable dancer Farah Khan and brother Arjun Kapoor along with many BFFs of Sonam including KJ and Kareena Kapoor Khan are all set to rock the dance floor at her sangeet.
While Anil and Sunita Kapoor (Sonam’s parents) insisted on a lavish Indian wedding, the wedding will be an intimate affair entailing a minimum number of guests as Sonam and Anand are both against gratuitous extravaganza.
The actress is not a fan of quintessential big fat Indian weddings.
Sonam Kapoor stated at a Dubai event
I think the whole idea of a marriage is more appealing to me than a wedding. I think there is too much money spent; it’s all very crass, and I would rather give that money away. I’d rather have a wedding at home than anywhere else. I think it’s important to do all the rituals, but I don’t believe in spending all that money, I find it disgusting and very wasteful, and I’m not okay with that at all.
Seems like the to be son-in-law is already a part of the Kapoor family!
Bridal costumes have played a major role in Bollywood weddings but we still don’t know what the fashionista's lehenga will look like. Sonam is known for her impeccable and offbeat fashion sense and we wonder how Sonam Kapoor’s wedding lehenga will look like but nonetheless we're sure it'll be worth falling head over heels in love with.
While Sabyasachi Mukherjee has been the vanguard in bridal couture, the rumors are that her wedding lehenga could be designed by her longtime friend and designer Anamika Khanna who appeared on a bridal fashion magazine cover with Sonam titled “I do” earlier this year.
We can’t wait for yet another astounding celebrity marriage and this time it’s Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja!
